Kate’s Club, a non-profit supporting children, teens and young adults facing life after the death of a parent, sibling, or caregiver, is seeking a full-time Program Coordinator in Metro Atlanta.

Founded in 2003, Kate’s Club envisions a world in which it’s okay to grieve. We build healing communities through recreational and therapeutic group programs, education and advocacy. We serve children and families through programming at our Clubhouse located in Brookhaven, GA and in school-based groups throughout metro Atlanta. Kate’s Club is seeking a full-time Program Coordinator to support recreational and therapeutic programming with children 5 to 18 years and to support LoKate, Kate’s Club’s young adult program.

Position Summary
The Program Coordinator will report directly to both the Director of Clubhouse Services and the Director of Programs and Partnerships. The program coordinator will play an integral role in advancing the organization’s efforts to serve children, teens and young adults in Metro Atlanta facing life after the death of a parent, sibling, or primary caregiver, and will divide their time between supporting Clubhouse programs and growing, planning and implementing the new LoKate program that serves young adults. 

This position requires availability on some evenings and weekends. Travel within a 30 mile radius of Atlanta may be required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duty: Coordination of Clubhouse Programs

  • Help coordinate contract facilitators: scheduling, communications, supplies, invoicing
  • Manage all program supplies; Family Night, Clubhouse, Orientations, etc.
  • Maintain Clubhouse and ensure ready for all programs with support of program team
  • Support interns with activity planning
  • Administer phone interviews with new parents and caregivers and bereavement needs assessments with new Clubhouse members
  • Maintain calendar for programs 
  • Help create and update program manuals and procedures

Duty: Ensure Growth, implement and manage new LoKate program 

  • Increase awareness of LoKate within the broader community with a focus on organizations that interact with grieving young adults including colleges, technical schools, student organizations, and corporations
  • Build and steward relationships with partner agencies, colleges, community organizations, etc. who can serve as referral sources
  • Represent LoKate at resource fairs, public meetings, and other community events
  • Plan and lead all support meetings
  • Maintain communication with potential and current members 
  • Develop trainings for those working with young adults as well as peer trainings
  • Keep detailed records of all outreach activities and LoKate member attendance, etc.

Qualifications and Skills
Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in a human or social services field, Master’s degree considered favorably

Experience:

  • Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience working in a social service or mental health-related field
  • A familiarity with metro Atlanta social services sectors

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • An understanding of bereavement and a passion for the Kate’s Club mission
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus
  • Ability to coordinate and track communications and attendance
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate presence, self-confidence, sound judgment and effectively listen to others
  • High degree of accountability, responsibility, and professional integrity
  • Aptitude for data management, including proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Google Suite, case management software, and data management principles
  • Ability to work independently and be resourceful

Other Requirements:

  • Must pass a criminal background check
  • Must have a valid Georgia driver’s license and clean driving record

Salary and Benefits
This position is full time. Salary range is $42,000 to $45,000 annually. Paid time off, health benefits and professional development opportunities are provided.
