Job Details
The Statewide Centralized Intake Unit of Georgia Legal Services Program (GLSP) is seeking applicants to work as an Intake Specialists.
The successful applicants will assume intake responsibilities on a full-time basis 5 days per week. The Intake Paralegal will answer and return incoming calls assigned to the Intake Workgroup of persons seeking legal assistance from Georgia Legal Services Program. Duties include, but are not limited to, screening and interviewing clients, making appointments, assisting clients in completing forms and questionnaires, making referrals to agencies and private attorneys, the input of initial data and updating data in Legal Server, and directing clients to self-help websites.
Requirements:
Applicants must have the ability to quickly establish a rapport with callers to effectively and efficiently obtain information needed to evaluate prospective clients’ cases. Position requires the following skills: the ability to identify legal issues; proficiency in the use of computers; good typing skills; ability to operate GLSP office equipment without assistance; proficiency in the use of Legal Server; ability to organize and prioritize work; and, a good track record completing tasks in a timely manner.
Prior experience as a GLSP paralegal, receptionist, or client pre-screener is a plus. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and have good writing and grammar skills.
