JOB SUMMARY:
SafePath Children’s Advocacy Center has an immediate opening for a full-time Therapist (Bilingual English-Spanish preferred). This clinical position is responsible for providing therapeutic services to child and adolescent victims of severe physical and sexual abuse and exposure to other forms of violence or trauma through individual, family, or group therapy. Services include individual treatment, support and education for caregivers, assessment and treatment plan development; brief crisis intervention; support of children during the disclosure and intervention; consultation to other team members. This is a 40 hour per week salaried position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide individual evidence-based therapeutic services to child victims of abuse and trauma and provide support and education for caregivers
- Conduct therapy and support groups for pre-school, latency age, and adolescent children and caregivers.
- Provide crisis intervention when necessary
- Conduct formal assessments and create treatment plans
- Document clinical services and maintain accurate documentation in electronic data collection system and files at all times
- Testify in court as required
- Prepare children and family members for any legal proceedings and possible trauma of testifying.
- Ability to work as a team member and collaborate with multidisciplinary partners
- Participate in ongoing professional development and remain current on practices
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree required in social work, counseling, or psychology.
- Must be licensed in the state of Georgia.
- Minimum of five years experience in treatment, assessment, case management, group processes.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- 2 years directly related work experience with children is preferred.
- Must complete and pass a criminal background investigation.
