Job Details

The Director of Housing and Family Services is primarily responsible for ensuring that all housing and family services operations conform to the highest standards of quality. The Director of Housing and Family Services will develop long-term options for all families served in all programs. The Director of Housing and Family Services will also build strategic partnerships with other organizations to advance the mission of Our House. The incumbent will serve as a member of the Our House Leadership team and report to the Chief Impact Officer ensure organizational development, growth, and performance according to the strategic plan and annual goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

1) Provide effective program leadership and management.

a) Lead the recruitment, selection, training and hiring of housing and family services program staff

b) Provides supervision, guidance and monitors performance housing and family services program staff

c) Helps sustain a culture of planning and of performance-based work and evaluation

d) Manages and ensures implementation of a high quality housing services program

e) Manages and ensures implementation of a high quality family services program

f) Serve as the subject matter expert on best practices in housing and family services.

g) Provide leadership and service consistent with the vision, mission and ENRICH values of the agency.

2) Lead, direct and implement a high quality housing and family services program responsive to the needs of families in transition

a) Develop annual and multiyear action plans for service delivery ensuring families transition successfully to stable permanent housing.

c) Ensure Our House provides individualized services that effectively evaluates and assesses social, medical, housing, employment and educational needs of families;

d) Ensures all files and documentation meet local, state and federal requirements.

e) Ensure that Our House implements a continuous feedback loop for families including surveys, focus groups and closing the loop meetings.

f) Develop and Implement an Alumni program

g) Ensure maximum utilization rates of housing and family services programs.

h) Manage the oversight of the shelter policies and regulations

3) Lead and direct program planning, outcome measurements, and evaluation planning for housing and family services programs.

a) Develops and implements an evaluation model and plan for all housing services

b) Develops protocol for data collection. Ensures housing staff understands, utilizes and fully supports the model

c) Monitors and advises on program performance and provides reports on performance against set indicators

4) Ensures compliance with all applicable local, state and federal grant requirements

a) Prepares monthly reports for grantors

b) Ensures service delivery is aligned with grant parameters

c) Provides technical information and advice to the leadership team regarding current and proposed projects as well as other operational needs

Qualifications

Education BA, BS or BSW Required. MSW, MS or MA in human services related field preferred.

Experience:

Minimum: 6 years of experience providing services to families at risk of or experiencing homelessness 2 of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.

Preferred: 8 years of experience as described above with 3 years in supervisory role with administrative experience, personnel management and budgetary responsibility, and extensive experience in program development, and evaluation techniques.

Skills: Demonstrated leadership ability

  • Ability to relate well to children and families
  • Excellent management, organizational and planning skills, multi-tasking independently with little supervision
  • Above average communication skills, both oral and written
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, especially relating to individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences
  • Above average computer skills including proficiency in MS Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Publisher
  • Experience in working with statistical data; analyzing, report preparation, and presentation

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
