Job Title: Project Manager – Veterans

Reports to: Director of Housing

JOB PURPOSE

At Partners for HOME (PFH), your challenge will be to ensure we create a highly coordinated homeless crisis response system that delivers outcomes and measures that can be scaled in order to effectively end Veteran homelessness. Our team’s mission is to lead a coordinated community effort and to layer and leverage the resources and relationships to make homelessness rare, brief, and nonrecurring.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the work of ending Veteran homelessness
  • Implement the strategic vision to end Veteran homelessness in the City of Atlanta
  • Continue to collaboratively define and refine the strategic vision based on real-time data and in collaboration with the VA and partners
  • Work with other Partners for HOME staff to create and manage Veteran by name lists and take down calculator
  • Identify system inflow as a determinant to guiding strategy and leveraging resources
  • Lead strategic workgroups for program design and implementation
  • Set and meet strategic operational goals for project performance outcomes
  • Host Veteran case conference sessions with strategy to develop by-name list and oversee progress toward housing solutions
  • Develop and implement a data sharing process and workflow for all VA and veteran providers
  • Serve as expert in the latest best practices for engaging Veterans experiencing homelessness. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of rapidly changing techniques and innovations in the field.
  • Coordinate trainings for provider community on best practices and techniques for engaging Veterans
  • Create and implement training for service providers on program models and workflows
  • Increase knowledge of strategy in the broader community by training, marketing, and networking to improve access to programs and quality of referrals
  • Collaborative leadership with critical stakeholders to further the work of Veteran and chronic initiatives including:
  • Work in close partnership with the Atlanta Continuum of Care partners, and all key stakeholders to develop and initiate strategic planning activities
  • Serve as point of contact between Partners for HOME and the VA
  • Partner with agencies receiving related funding resources (such as SSVF, ESG, CoC funding streams, etc.) to further alignment with the CoC and lead and drive committee work and strategies.
  • Develop broad-ranging relationships and provide exceptional customer service to our Continuum Partners, ensuring a transparent system is in place to measure outcomes and deliver results.
  • Meet project deliverables following a data-driven approach by:
  • Keeping updated records, reviewing data and data quality, and generating reports from HMIS utilizing proactive real-time monitoring of project outcomes goals.
  • Maintain communication with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Atlanta Community Resource and Referral Center (CRRC), Veteran Employment Opportunities (VEO) for veteran homeless data
  • Working with the Senior Project Manager of Performance to develop and monitor performance measures and benchmarks for all programs and initiatives associated with veterans
  • Provide guidance and interpretation to the CoC of HUD regulations/guidelines, contract language, procurement policies, and procedures.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High energy and a passion for the CoC’s mission and goals
  • 2+ years of experience in project management
  • Superb organizational skills, with the proven ability to create and implement efficient systems, plan strategically, allocate work, set and manage objectives, analyze and mitigate risk, and create and manage visionary projects
  • Ability to excel in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, diverse, results-oriented environment, and to handle multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
  • Significant experience building relationships, and gaining community buy-in and consensus building
  • Previous experience in partnering with leadership for the delivery of projects
  • Preferred record of measurable results in cultivating relationships
  • Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills to effectively work with a broad spectrum of stakeholders including those with lived experience of homelessness
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Impeccable professional and persuasive writing and editing skills
  • Highly industrious with a strong work ethic; sense of urgency/impatience for action
  • Integrity and humility that encourages and inspires constituents; strong sense of judgment
  • Ability to seek out constructive criticism and growth
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and of data-driven project management tools
  • Preferred experience with HMIS (Homeless Management Information System)
  • At least a Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree preferred
  • At least 3 years of experience in homeless services or social services project management

COMPENSATION

PfH offers a competitive compensation package including generous health benefits, retirement match, annual performance bonus and up to 4 weeks’ vacation.  Salary range is $52,800-59,400 depending on experience.

While not a direct service provider, Partners for HOME is a nonprofit organization authorized by the Atlanta CoC and City of Atlanta to provide homeless response; fundraising and grantmaking; and performance and compliance management services to the local homeless ecosystem.
