Support Teacher at Nature-Based Cooperative Preschool

Join Inman Park Cooperative Preschool where community and parental involvement have served as the cornerstone of our success for 40 years! IPCP is looking for an Assistant Preschool Teacher to join our 2022-2023 teaching team and be a part of our unique nature-based learning environment for children ages 1 - 5 years old.

Minimum requirements:

• Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, have the ability to sit on the floor and interact with children, ability to hear and see children, lift and carry at least 50 lbs., and walk and run with ease.
• Candidates must have at least 2 years experience working with children ages 1-5 years old. 
• Candidates must possess strong communication skills, a commitment to team-teaching, and experiences in nature and play-based learning environments.
• Candidates must be flexible and have an ability to implement the Creative Curriculum and an early childhood nature based curriculum and also be skilled at engaging children in an overall emergent curriculum.
• Candidates must be flexible and reliable, and have a warm and supportive attitude towards children, families and colleagues.

Preferred:
A Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field is preferred. Candidates with knowledge and experience in nature and outdoor education, Conscious Discipline, and/or the Creative Curriculum as well as an understanding of cooperative preschool environments are also highly preferred.

Details: This is a part-time position that begins as soon as possible through the end of May 2023 with over 4 weeks of paid school vacation time (winter and spring breaks) and several additional paid time off (PTO) days.

Reporting hours are 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday.

Starting pay is $18/hour and increases with experience and education. 

Teachers have the option of continued employment with our Nature In the City Summer Camp program in June and July of 2023.

NOTE: All teachers and staff are required to be fully vaccinated as a term and condition of employment at IPCP. Employees are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after completing primary vaccination with a COVID-19 vaccine.
