Haiti Air Ambulance is a well established Long Island based charity funded almost entirely through philanthropy. HAA provides the only medical helicopter air ambulance in the nation of Haiti, bringing high quality medical care and transport for the citizens of Haiti, regardless of ability to pay.


Job Responsibilities

 

Initiate and grow a Development Office for Haiti Air Ambulance

Raise funds for HAA and regularly meet or surpass fundraising targets.
Research potential donors to gain insight into needs, beliefs, and donation habits to understand how to position our organization to them.
Identify, approach, and meet with potential high net worth donors to secure funding through ongoing relationships.
Gain corporate sponsors through relationships with corporate philanthropy departments.
Assist in brainstorming and creating new methods to raise funds for HAA.
Assist in membership sales efforts as applicable.
Leverage technology and social media where possible to improve fundraising activities.
Develop and grow one time and subscription donation programs through PayPal, Patreon, etc.
Utilize Social Media effectively in promoting services and donations.
Participate in updates and optimization of website to optimize potential for donation income.
Assist in planning and coordinating events meant to raise funds and coordinate activities of volunteers and interns related to event planning and execution.
Create or participate in creation of marketing materials, like flyers and brochures, to be used for the promotion of events and other fundraising pushes.
Analyze the performance of events and other fundraising activities for effectiveness and to identify areas where money can be saved, and efforts improved.
Maintain complete and orderly records of donors and manage regular donor communications.
Manage non-profit reporting relationships with organizations such as Guidestar, etc.
Build upon existing donor relationships and form new donor relationships on a regular basis.
Identify potential governmental sources of income for HAA.
Be able to locate and successfully write grants for general funding or specific causes for HAA.

Collaborate with other organizations and groups within the community to build partnerships and enhance fundraising activities.
Have a home office suitable for routine work with access to infrastructure adequate to support routine video conferencing, etc.
Possession of or ability to obtain a US Passport, and a willingness for occasional (1x / yr) travel to Haiti.


Job Skills & Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Exemplary oral and written communication abilities and outgoing and poised personality.
Strong leadership skills.
Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
Proven track record of development success for non-profits.
Quick thinker and ability to make decisions under pressure.


Preferred:
Background in medical non-profit
History of working with third world nation projects
History of budget management and fiscal responsibility
