Supervisor: Assistant Director, Parent Services 

Salary Range: $39,000 - $43,000 

POSITION SUMMARY 

877-All-GA-KIDS is Quality Care for Children’s referral service program to help parents find and identify quality child care and afterschool programs. It is comprised of our www.allgakids.org online search and call center. The call center is available Monday – Thursday (8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. EST) and Friday (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM EST). Our experts readily handle calls throughout the state and participate in a variety of community outreach events. 

The Bilingual Referral Specialist promotes Quality Rated Child Care and provides consumer education and child care referrals to parents contacting 877-ALL-GA-KIDS. The Specialist routinely updates the child care referral database to ensure that families that contact us by phone or online for child care and summer camp referrals receive accurate provider information.  The Specialist speaks fluently in Spanish to handle calls from parents, family members and child care providers whose primary language is Spanish.  The Specialist will also communicate with parents at in-person or virtual events. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Counseling and Resource Dissemination (30%) 

  • Assist consumers in finding care for children through our referral program 
  • Educate consumers on selecting quality child care, state regulations 
  • Provide consumer education and referrals to families seeking child care 
  • Gather and update community resources to assist families as needed 
  • Provide quality customer service 
  • Exhibit knowledge of child development and information about child care 
  • Conduct referrals through call center (85%) and in the community (15%) 
  • All duties listed will done for both English and Spanish-speaking families. 

Complete all required DECAL and Call Center Reports (20%) 

  • Weekly/daily completion of recorded of Call Center activities 
  • Compile weekly and monthly reports of Enhanced Referrals completions and Follow-Up calls 
  • Complete monthly Call Center narratives on any successes and challenges of the Call Center 
  • Assist in collection and review of Spanish-speaking data and metrics 

Updating database (25%) 

  • Update child care and summer camp provider profiles in the parent referral database 
  • Initiate and receive child care provider update/support phone calls and emails 
  • Develop strategies to increase accuracy of databases and parent education and support 
  • All duties listed will done for both English and Spanish-speaking providers. 

Community Outreach (20%) 

  • Participate in community events, exhibitions, and professional events by effectively promoting and representing QCC, 877-ALL-GA-KIDS Call Center and Quality Rated Child Care  
  • Participate in community events geared specifically towards the Hispanic community or families whose primary language is Spanish to promote the Call Center and Quality Rated Child Care 
  • Provide outstanding customer service in all customer interaction situations 

Administrative Duties (5%) 

  • Other job duties as assigned to meet the company needs 

REQUIREMENTS 

  • High School Diploma or Associates degree 
  • Ability to use both English and Spanish fluently and accurately orally and in writing to translate specific materials as assigned by DECAL 
  • Must have good knowledge of child care standards and practices. 
  • Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Applicants and basic computer navigation skills. 
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish. 
  • Demonstrate the desire to help parents achieve their child care placement goals. 
  • Demonstrate the ability to build strong relationships and rapport with families. 
  • Strong organizational/time-management skills and the ability to multi-task. 
  • Must have the flexibility to work day and/or evening hours, as well as weekends/holidays as needed for occasional community events. 
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship now or in the future. 
  • Must have reliable transportation. 
  • Proven ability to work with diverse and underserved populations 
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs 
  • Must have high-speed internet access at home and own a personal cell phone 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 4-year degree in Early Childhood Education, Counseling, Social Work, or related field 
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in multiple other languages is a plus 
  • Call Center and/or counseling experience 
  • Experience in either a family child care home or child care center is a plus 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT 

  • Occasional driving 
  • Sitting at the computer for 4 hours or more at a time 
  • Bending, frequent use of hands, stooping and moderate lifting {at least 25 pounds) required 
  • Noise level in the work environment may be high at times 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Quality Care for Children's Atlanta office is the base location for this position with flexibility for home-based work.
