The Marketing and Corporate Engagement Manager—a new and exciting opportunity to join the remote Playworks Pacific Northwest team—will be responsible for expanding revenue for Playworks' digital products and supporting corporate fundraising efforts for Playworks.

ABOUT PLAYWORKS, at Playworks we believe in the power of play to bring out the best in every kid. We create a place for every kid on the playground to feel included, be active, and build valuable social and emotional skills by partnering with schools, districts, and after-school programs through services including digital engagement, on-site coaches, professional training for school staff who support play, and consultative partnerships.

ABOUT THE POSITION, the Marketing and Corporate Engagement Manager will be responsible for strengthening corporate fundraising efforts in the Pacific Northwest region (alongside the development team) as well as driving revenue for Playworks' digital products, including but not limited to leading a pilot to transform a B2B Playworks digital product to be relevant for and sold B2C in order to increase revenue and impact potential. This position will balance local brand marketing, product marketing, service marketing, and marketing to support fundraisingespecially among corporate audiences.

We intend to improve the experiences of our partners who support children achieving safe and healthy play. Our goal is to meet the needs of educators and families while creating a sustainable, evergreen revenue source that creates mission-relevant impact via a stronger digital services offering. This position will work alongside a digital services working group and the marketing department. The technical skills preferred for this role include email marketing experience (we use Marketo) and CRM experience (we use Salesforce). 

This is a new grant-funded, full-time, exempt position, reporting to Playworks’ Executive Director of Pacific Northwest. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Marketing (30%) 

  • Own the development of content for email, website, social media, etc. Proactively drive and optimize content performance.
  • Demonstrate fluency across tech stack (ex. Marketo, Wordpress, Salesforce, social media, etc.). 
  • Learn from peers to understand the nuances of the elementary education market so that you can effectively drive growth amongst our key audiences. 
  • Position the brand in the marketplace by understanding and finding opportunities to uplift the brand’s voice.
  • Support PACNW development lead events and activities as assigned.

Corporate Engagement (40%)

  • Identify opportunities for corporate partnerships, including but not limited to marketing, community impact, and human resources departments, and partner with the Playworks PacNW development team throughout the lifecycle of those relationships. 
  • Position Playworks Pacific Northwest to be recognized by corporations as a valued partner. Build effective relationships in person and digitally with potential and existing funders.
  • Identify opportunities for funding within the Pacific Northwest region among corporate audiences to build brand recognition and generate revenue. 
  • Recruit, coordinate and support the delivery of corporate in person and virtual recesses and Playdays to increase revenue and brand sentiment among corporate audiences.
  • Execute upon grant deliverables across Playworks digital channels, partner with internal stakeholders to execute upon in person activations, and support the reporting process.

Product Marketing and Innovation (30%)

  • Be responsible for driving revenue for Playworks' digital products in the PacNW market.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for digital service testing. 
  • Oversee testing and product development with a focus on meeting user and revenue growth goals. Manage tests across platforms and report on results.
  • Collaborate with the marketing department and digital service working group (Executive leadership, Program Innovation, Evaluation, and Solutions & Data) to influence and develop the roadmap for our tests.
  • Develop the acquisition and conversion marketing plans for immediate and long-term ROI. Identify opportunities to test and learn how we can increase our revenue and impact through digital services.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Experience in general marketing or product marketing functions. Digital marketing skills required.
  • Strong relationship management, written and verbal communication skills, and technical fluency.
  • Demonstrated ability of launching/growing a B2B/B2C product or service (preferably SaaS). 
  • The ability to interpret quantitative and qualitative data and translate them into actionable insights that influence marketing plans. 
  • CMS experience strongly preferred, WordPress preferred; social media platforms; email marketing tools such as Marketo, Pardot, or similar platforms required. Experience working in Salesforce is a plus.
  • Experience building and leveraging expertise on a market/audience to grow adoption.
  • Cross-team collaboration, with a mix of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • An understanding of adult learning or the education sector is a plus.
  • Fundraising experience, specifically with corporate partners is a plus.
