The Donor Experience Manager is a non-fundraising position responsible for supporting a high touch donor experience with the Strategic Philanthropy Group of the Atlanta Humane Society. This is a key position in the Strategic Philanthropy Group working with $10,000+ major gift donors, endowment fund, capital campaign, and planned giving donors to provide a high quality/high touch positive experience with the Atlanta Humane Society. Under the direct supervision of the Senior Vice President/Chief Philanthropy Officer, this position will provide support to the Strategic Philanthropy Group with a variety of projects and programs including event production for up to 12 small 25-50 person donor events and 4 speaker events. This position will take the lead on researching and writing stewardship reports for the President’s Circle of $10,000+ donors. Additional event production for President’s Circle annual thank you event. Excellent people skills for connecting with and interviewing major donors for stories. This position has a unique opportunity to get to know many Atlanta Humane stakeholders, donors, vendors, and members of the Atlanta Humane Society community, and make an impact on how the organization is viewed and resourced in the community.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy and production of key donor events for SPG throughout the year to include creating project plan, schedule, and budget Manage execution of project plans for all SPG events and programs Create 80+ stewardship reports for $10,000+ annual donors, endowment fund donors, planned giving donors and capital campaign donors Employ creative skills in using data and stories to write compelling stewardship reports
  • Lead collaboration with other Atlanta Humane departments include Community Engagement, Operations, and Finance for donor experience projects
  • Provide quality customer service to donors including timely and professional communications Engage in creative brainstorming sessions with SPG and maintain benchmarking research to align the Atlanta Humane Society as top of class and a national model for donor experiences
  • Proactively communicate with team members, especially when identifying challenges
  • Seek out opportunities to innovate and improve upon conventional practices and procedures
  • Communicate pertinent information to staff, managers and directors
  • Work independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects
  • Handle confidential and non-routine donor information
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • BA/BS preferred Minimum three to five years’ event management experience preferred
  • Experience preferred working with high-net-worth families and foundations
  • Excellent event project management skills Self-starter with drive and consummate tact, discretion and professionalism
  • Excellent organizational planning and interpersonal skills
  • Exemplary attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in sensitive, complex, and/or controversial situations
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Self-reliant, highly motivated, and positive attitude
  • Passion for working cross-functionally to accomplish shared objectives
  • High level of proficiency with MS Office suite, particularly Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel Proficiency in Salesforce and ClickUp preferred
  • Excellent writing, copy editing, and formatting skills; experience in drafting presentations, reports, and other written documents
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously and meet relevant deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and on collaborative teams
  • Knowledge of use and operation of standard office equipment
  • Knowledge of office administrative procedures
  • Must possess a valid Georgia driver’s license or can obtain a valid Georgia driver's license
