About Mercy Health.  Mercy Health Center was created in 2001 when God brought together a small group of individuals with a common desire to use medicine as a doorway to minister to the needs of the low income, uninsured population. The mission of the organization is “Through a community of volunteers, Mercy provides whole-person quality healthcare in a Christ-Centered environment to undeserved neighbors”. Mercy provides free medical, dental, pharmacy, health education and behavioral health services to the low-income uninsured of Clarke, Barrow, Jackson, Madison, Oglethorpe, and Oconee counties. Mercy carries out its mission and serves almost 3,000 patients with 22 staff along with the help of more than 500 volunteers and generous donors. The population served by Mercy Health Center is over 363,000 , based on the 2020 US Census information.

The Position.  The Executive Director of Mercy Health Center, Inc. is a dynamic Christian collaborator and communicator with the primary focus of ensuring that the mission of the organization is maintained through leadership, outreach and the delivering of quality healthcare services in a faith-based environment. The professional is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the organization as a non-profit business. Leadership, communications, community relations, and building partnerships for healthcare services are key responsibilities of the professional. Other organization accountable duties include financial growth and management, talent development, and innovative strategic planning and implementation. The executive reports to the Executive Board and Board of Directors through an annually elected Chair.

Education and Experience.  Bachelor’s degree, with a master’s degree desired, in the area(s) of non-profit, business, healthcare, public relations, and/or marketing from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.

● Five years of executive management leadership experience in the healthcare management, business, non-profit sector(s), or a combination of these.

The Ideal Candidate.  First and foremost, the Mercy Health Center Search Committee is seeking candidates who have a strong, conservative Christian faith. Candidates applying should also possess the knowledge and experience to build a team of volunteers and professionals who can deliver healthcare services to the underserved population.
