MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST (PART-TIME) 

 

JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Senior Marketing & Communications Manager, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta (BBBSMA) is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Marketing & Communications Specialist to join the agency at its headquarters located in Atlanta, Georgia.  

The Marketing & Communications Specialist will assist in the development, planning, execution, and evaluation of communications and marketing initiatives, as well as providing general administrative support to the Marketing and Communications team. An ideal candidate will have:

  • Passion for the mission of BBBSMA
  • Strong commitment to the values of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet concurrent deadlines, show strong attention to detail and organize time and priorities.
  • Excellent attention to detail. 
  • Outstanding writing skills, including the ability to write varied content, from press releases to special event scripts. 
  • Visual intelligence, including knowledge of graphic design, video and photography. 
  • Knowledge of Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator); knowledge of Premiere Pro a plus

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Work with Marketing & Communications team to create and implement annual marketing plan for the agency.
  • Compile performance data on marketing initiatives, including email, social media, and web traffic.
  • Participate in content brainstorms for social media
  • Help develop editorial plans and research current trends for Marketing Team
  • Help implement content marketing best practices 
  • Provide general administrative support to the Marketing & Communications team including but not limited to creating content for digital marketing (social media, email marketing, etc.)
  • Manage multiple projects and complete them with minimal supervision.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.  

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Digital Media, or a related field preferred. Minimum one year of experience in marketing/communications, with a strong track record of success in creating and implementing projects.
  • New grads with specific expertise in their portfolio can be considered.
  • Strong interest in nonprofit marketing and communications.  Proficiency with social media platforms and content management.
  • Proficiency with email marketing and analytics.

Proficiency with graphic design tools such as Photoshop, InDesign or Canva.

 

 

Work Environment

  • Routine office environment. This position is located in our Atlanta office; however, a hybrid work arrangement would be allowed. Flexible work hours available, ideal part-time hours:
  • 20 hours/week

 

ABOUT BBBSMA: As the largest one-to-one mentoring organization in the Southeast, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta (BBBSMA) currently serves nearly 1200 youth in one-to-one relationships. Our service to our community extends beyond the city of Atlanta to the 12-county metropolitan area surrounding the city:  Butts, Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, Paulding and Rockdale. Our staff of approximately 45 employees supports our city’s children and their families through friendships that are formed with caring adult volunteers.
