Job Description
The Assistant to the President is responsible for the overall schedule and the effective and efficient workflow of the President’s office. Trustworthiness, integrity, confidentiality, and maturity are virtues that characterize the right person for this role. Attention to details, coordinating a demanding schedule, and contributing to personal correspondence are key components of this position. In addition to administrative responsibilities, this position also entails important relational commissions, including interactions with worldwide ministry donors, boards of directors, and serving on the advance team for domestic and international speaking engagements. 

Responsibilities of the Assistant to the President include but are not limited to:

  • Executive Support
  • Manage the President’s calendar and overall schedule
  • Prepare records such as agendas, minutes, and notices for all the President’s meetings
  • Arrange and coordinate the President’s travel and meetings, domestically and internationally
  • Compose and prepare routine correspondence
  • Organize and maintain filing system for the President’s office
  • Donor Relations & Event Support
  • Assist with coordinating and staying in touch with all ministry activities, including donor relations, media appearances and global coordination
  • Compose and prepare confidential correspondence, reports and other documents, as needed
  • Greet and interact with donors at domestic and international events
  • Travel as part of the advance team, including 2+ international trips per year and 5+ domestic trips per year


Qualifications
This position, the Assistant to the President, is both administrative and relational. To thrive and be successful, you must be proactive and possess the ability to anticipate needs. If you prefer environments in which the work flows to you, then this role may not be the best fit. To qualify as a candidate you should possess the following characteristics and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years experience as an assistant to an executive or international leader, Scheduler, Legislative Aide, or in a Public Relations (PR) role preferred
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills, and excellence in English grammar
  • Highly attentive to details
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Understanding of cultural flashpoints and undercurrents
  • Great flexibility to deal with unexpected issues or events
  • The ability to handle and maintain confidential information
