Metro Nashville is looking for a transformative leader to implement a Housing First strategy and to end chronic homelessness in Nashville. Thanks to historic investments by the city, this individual will supervise a department of approximately 25 individuals with the possibility of hiring more staff to build a team to create an Office of Homeless Services. This individual needs to have experience transforming organizations and working effectively with broad stakeholders to accomplish community goals. Experience managing homeless services, building nonprofit and developer partnerships, interfacing with consultants, local, state and federal officials and the media on sensitive issues is imperative.
Metro has increased its year-over-year operating budget to support homeless services, dedicated a new Office of Homelessness Services, has proposed committing $50M of American Rescue Plan funds to end chronic homelessness, broke ground on 90 units of permanent supportive housing, and has consultants and technical assistants on contract to support this new leader in successful transformation of the Nashville & Davidson County Continuum-of-Care to high performance. If you are a leader with a successful track record motivated to end chronic homelessness in one of the largest 25 cities in the US, then this position is for you.
