The Accounting Manager will oversee aspects of accounting and financial reporting for a growing and innovative community development organization. As an active member of the Administrative team, the Accounting Manager will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, reconciliations and support to the Director of Finance. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing and maintaining the company’s real estate portfolio files including legal documentations, financial transactions, property tax payments and insurance requirements. 

 

Job Title: Accounting Manager

Reports To: Director of Finance and Administration

 

Responsibilities:

Financial reporting

  • Prepare journal entries and participate in month end closeout process
  • Participate in month end reporting and budget vs actual reporting preparation
  • Participate in grant financial implementation, management and reporting
  • Assist with preparation of financial reports for grant applications

Real Estate Portfolio

  • Manage and maintain real estate portfolio files within project management software as well as accounting systems
  • Oversee the annual property tax renewals and appeals process as necessary
  • Manage all insurance required for each property
  • Provide reports on portfolio to Housing Division and Executive Leadership

General Accounting

  • Prepare schedule and participate in annual audit
  • Gather information and assist with annual budget process
  • Assist Director of Finance and Administration with all accounting tasks
  • Assist other Administrative Team members as needed

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent in accounting work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in general accounting principles and procedures, business and administrative practices, non-profit financial management, and real estate accounting. 5 years of experience is preferred
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online is a required 
  • Experience in government (federal and state) grants accounting and contracts management is preferred 
  • Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Excel
  • Basic knowledge of customer relationship management systems, Monday.com experience a plus
  • Great analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Team Player and have the ability to communicate well with all levels of staff

 

This is a full time/in-person position.
