Judge Baker (JBCC) has an exciting Full-Time Telephone Screener opportunity, working partly remote and partly on-site, in our new state-of-the-art facility in Waltham!

ABOUT THE MA CHILD ABUSE EMERGENCY LINE:

 

The MA Child Abuse Emergency Line, operated by JBCC for DCF, provides a statewide emergency response system protecting the Commonwealth’s children from abuse and neglect.  The Emergency Line fields over 70,000 calls per year, operating 24 hours/day, 365 days/year. Telephone Screeners work 8-hour staggered shifts from 4:00 pm – 9:00 am weekdays with one overnight per week and staggered shifts throughout the weekend including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and overnights. Individuals choose their work schedules based on availability! Read on and come join our team!

 

 

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Emergency Line Telephone Screeners work collaboratively with experienced supervisors to assess the urgency of each call, elicit critical information, and initiate an emergency response when children are at imminent risk. They respond to calls from individuals reporting concerns about a child or children at risk of abuse and/or neglect or a child who is missing. Telephone Screeners engage callers to gather as much information as possible, thoroughly and accurately document the information in the electronic case management system, review and assess the information gathered and make an informed clinical screening decision. The Emergency Line provides an intensive and comprehensive initial training program followed by monthly workshops on a variety of topics related to our work.

 

 

 

Do you have a bachelor’s degree or an associate’s degree?

 

Do you have experience working with children and families, or the desire to utilize critical thinking skills to keep children safe?

 

Are you proficient with Microsoft Office and multi-tasking?

 

Do you have excellent customer service skills, spelling, and grammar?
