Strategic Concepts in Organizing and Policy Education (SCOPE), a Los Angeles based Social Justice organization is seeking a Co-Executive Director to join SCOPE’S newly appointed Co-Executive Director, Gloria Medina under SCOPE’s new Co-Ed leadership model. 

Established thirty years (1992) ago in response to the civil unrest resulting from the acquittal of several LA police officers, captured on video during   the brutal beating of Rodney King, SCOPE aims to empower the South Los Angeles community.

SCOPE builds grassroots power to create social and economic justice in South Los Angeles. They do this by organizing communities, developing leaders, and building capacity.  SCOPE’s mission is to collaborate through strategic alliances, build capacity through training programs and educate South LA residents to have an active role in shaping policies that affect the quality of life in the region.

SCOPE seeks a visionary, innovative, strategic leader with a community organizing background in social justice and policy advocacy. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building community-based enterprises in the nonprofit, corporate and/or philanthropic sectors. SCOPE seeks a leader who can leverage the outstanding work of SCOPE with the growing need for community development.
