Truancy Intervention Project (TIP) is seeking a Behavioral Health Services Manager to join our team. Responsibilities include case management for TIP clients and their families, developing and maintaining partnerships with community organizations, and coordinating annual client outreach programs.

TIP's mission is to increase student attendance and opportunities for success through legal and family advocacy. In operation for over 30 years, TIP provides early, positive interaction with children in Atlanta and Fulton County Public Schools who are chronically absent from school, and as a result become involved with the Fulton County Juvenile Court or are referred for intervention at the school level. In partnership with volunteer attorneys and other professionals, TIP works to uncover and address the underlying causes of each child’s absenteeism, setting them up for a future of school attendance and overall success.

The ideal candidate for this role will have case management experience, the ability to work effectively with both volunteers and clients, and a passion for helping children and teenagers. Master’s degree in Social Work required; previous experience at non-profits and/or in school settings preferred. This is a full-time position (40 hours/week). Competitive salary/benefits and a fun, accommodating work environment.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct case management for TIP clients and their families. Complete appropriate assessments, develop case plan in collaboration with partners, and maintain case information in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Connect clients with appropriate resources and referrals to partner organizations. Identify, develop, and implement new programmatic partnerships that will further behavioral health service availability to TIP clients.
  • Partner with Fulton County Juvenile Court Child in Need of Services (CHINS) Unit to provide case management and other assistance to children referred for truancy.

  • Proactively assist TIP volunteers in identifying client needs and connecting clients with appropriate resources.
  • Coordinate the annual holiday program, Winners for Life celebration, and other outreach programs for TIP.
  • Monitor developments in behavioral health service delivery, mental health of adolescents, and underlying causes of truancy. Serve as staff resource on behavioral health and social services issues, including appropriate client interaction and boundary-setting.
  • Assist in dissemination of relevant information and resources to clients and their families through text messaging and social media.
  • Manage case and client details in agency case management system.
  • Supervise MSW interns.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters of Social Work required.
  • Minimum two years’ social work experience, preferably in organizations serving children and teenagers.

  • Fluent in written and spoken English; Spanish language ability strongly preferred.
  • Experience leading counseling or process groups for children or adults strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated awareness of unique challenges faced by children and families struggling with poverty and/or behavioral and mental health issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; outstanding writing abilities.
  • Superior attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Demonstrated commitment to children and families, education, or communities experiencing poverty or other marginalized groups.
  • Willingness to pitch in where needed and wear an organizational “hat”; flexible; ability to be a team player and work collaboratively with staff and Board members from diverse backgrounds; prior experience in small non-profits or start-up organizations a plus.
  • Must be able to pass criminal background check.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • Salary range: $55,000-$65,000, depending on experience
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance (100% of premiums for employee paid by TIP); 403(b) plan
