Description

 Atlanta Habitat for Humanity transforms communities by acting as a catalyst for neighborhood revitalization through education, innovative development, partnerships, and long-term relationships with families. 

 

Position SummaryThe Sponsorship Manager works in collaboration with and supports the organization’s fundraising efforts as part of the house sponsorship team, with a specific focus on building and maintaining partnerships with faith organizations, civic groups, high schools, colleges/universities, specialty build groups, partner build groups, and corporate sponsors. 

 

 Key Responsibilities: 

 

House Sponsorship

  • Build and manage a portfolio of sponsors, primarily from corporate and civic organizations and secondarily small to medium businesses in Atlanta, to meet or exceed annual revenue goals ($4M+) for house sponsorship. Sponsors provide funding, in-kind resources, and volunteers for the construction or renovation of Atlanta Habitat homes. 
  • Identify, cultivate, and secure new house sponsors and stewarding existing sponsors in the portfolio.
  • Build and broaden the sponsor base.  
  • Collaborate with the Sponsorship Team to create and implement an annual fundraising strategy for house sponsorships.
  • Utilize and grow online peer-to-peer fundraising tools for specialty builds.
  • Ensure timely receipt, deposit, tracking, and recognition of house sponsorship funds.  
  • Report on sponsorship payments and pledges 
  • Utilize Salesforce to keep detailed records on house sponsors and prospective sponsors.
  • Provide an excellent customer service experience for house sponsors.
  • Follow sponsorship guidelines to create touchpoints for sponsors during the build process, attend build starts and house dedications for each sponsor in the portfolio, and manage sponsor recognition.

 

Marketing and Communications

 

  • Assist with public relations, advertising, marketing, and/or promotions in support of Atlanta Habitat’s house sponsorship program.
  • Collaborate with the Communications Department to create strategies to promote house sponsors and house builds through Atlanta Habitat social media outlets.
  • Collaborate with the Communications Department to develop posts and comments related to builds on the Facebook pages of sponsors in the portfolio. 

 

 Other

  • Represent Atlanta Habitat at community events.
  • Serve as liaison with Habitat for Humanity International related to sponsor initiatives and/or special build programs and Atlanta Habitat’s Global Village partnership with Habitat for Humanity International.
  • Support Resource Development Team projects and fundraising initiatives.

 

Job Conditions:

  • The position is full-time with a minimum 40-hour workweek; evening and weekend work is required, including attending    occasional special events and frequent weekend house starts and dedications
  • This position is classified as exempt
  • The Sponsorship Manager reports to the Sponsorship Director and is a member of the Resurce Development Team
  • This position is subject to a criminal background check and drug and alcohol testing
  • This position will involve some local travel. A reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance may be required
  • The Sponsorship Manager is expected to use discretion and independent judgment in carrying out his/her responsibilities and to represent the organization in a professional, knowledgeable, and collegial manner at all times

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Preferred fields of study include non-profit management, communications, marketing, public relations, or business
  • Minimum of five years of professional sales, business development, or fundraising development experience
  • Minimum of two years working as an employee or volunteer with a nonprofit organization
  • Proven track record of securing and stewarding gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations, or successfully closing sales opportunities
  • Experience in event planning preferred
  • Experience in sales, public relations, and/or marketing preferred

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Able to meet or exceed sales and fundraising goals.
  • Strong computer skills with an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with database management required; knowledge of Salesforce, iWave, or another fundraising, prospecting, or CRM software platform preferred.
  • Established ability to build and cultivate relationships with individuals, corporations, and foundations.
  • Proficient in public speaking, presentations, virtual presentations, and facilitating in-person and virtual donor and prospective donor meetings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management and time management skills and able to meet deadlines with strong attention to detail.
  • Able to work well with a diverse group of staff members, volunteers, and community leaders.
  • Able to work collaboratively within a team environment and across departments.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Flexible and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
