About Purpose Possible

Purpose Possible empowers mission-driven organizations to overcome the roadblocks that prevent them from making their purpose possible. We are thinkers AND doers. We’ll create the plan and then implement that plan on a daily basis. Our work focuses on helping organizations meet the current demands of their operational budgets, while also planning for sustainable program expansion and organizational growth. We are passionate about communities and the people that create them. We combine success-based methodologies, deep networks, and a proven track record with enthusiasm, energy, and expertise.

About the Role

Purpose Possible provides both hourly grant support and retainer based support for clients all over the country. Successful candidates will have a proven track record of grant writing and will be able to show samples of multiple kinds of projects and share estimated amounts raised. Communication skills are imperative to helping our clients reach their goals – you must be able to instill confidence in our clients. We predominantly work remotely, so being self motivated and comfortable working independently is of the utmost importance. You will need to be able to stay organized while working with multiple clients and prioritize your work based upon deadlines and urgency. In order to ensure our clients are getting the most benefit, you will also need to research additional grant opportunities and determine the best fit(s) for the client.

Grant writers will be responsible for ensuring their assigned clients have a calendar of grant deadlines, those deadlines are met, and all reports are appropriately handled. All grant writers have a broad range of responsibilities, including, but not limited to:

  • Working closely with the Director of Client Services to ensure seamless client experience and execution of ongoing service
  • Ensuring that PP services exceed client expectations
  • Updating the PP team on your progress
  • Communicating with the client regularly, including regular meetings (set at mutually agreed upon times) and submitting monthly reports

Full-time consultants in grant writing will report to a Director of Client Services, and have additional duties, including but not limited to:

  • Directly supervising assigned client-facing team members
  • Attending regular company meetings
  • Supporting renewal process for existing clients
  • Identifying potential additional service areas for assigned clients, and looping in the Client Care representative for follow up.

The firm does other consulting work, and there will be opportunities for grant writers to work in other areas of expertise.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Training

  • Ability to perform all of the above
  • Secured foundation and/or government funding through grant writing
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Be deadline oriented and organized
  • Have experience researching additional funding opportunities
  • Be self motivated and able to work independently

Desired Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Training

  • Previous consulting experience, especially with managing more than one client
  • Knowledge of the Atlanta funding community
  • Grants administration experience
  • Project management experience
  • Experience working with arts and cultural organizations
  • Federal grant writing experience
