Position Summary: The Events Manager plans and executes all details and logistics of the organization’s external and internal events, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met. The Events Manager will be responsible for maintaining relationships with co-hosts and partners, will share the management of the speaker/leader process, and will contribute to the production of all event-related collateral, event cue-to-cue, and script production. The Events Manager will assist with event vision and design and reports to the Deputy Executive Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Deputy Executive Director in speaker/leader communication and cultivation, including but not limited to travel arrangements, speaker briefing, and ongoing relationship-building
- Put out bids, negotiate contracts, and oversee the execution of hotel, catering, and shuttle services, with the Deputy Executive Director’s input, to ensure CASIE standards are met
- Serve as primary Zoom DJ for online consults
- Schedule consulting logistics in tandem with Executive Director
- Serve as Canvas software backup for leader assistance leading up to and during events
- Works on presenter/course document creation and upkeep
- May serve as Constant Contact software backup when necessary
- May serve as Cvent software backup for Registration Manager when necessary
- May serve as a solo event lead during times of heavy scheduling
- Manage CASIE’s AmTrav travel booking system and assist all workshop leaders in securing their own travel arrangements and track CASIE travelers
- Work with Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director in securing locations for CASIE events
- Design and manage sponsorship packages and will serve as the main contact for event exhibitors and sponsors
- Participate in event scheduling, budgeting, and advertising planning
- May be involved in meeting event audio visual needs including creation of slide shows and videos for specific events
Position Requirements:
- Experience or focus in event management preferred
- Must be extremely organized and detail-oriented
- Must be able to multi-task
- Must be able to work effectively with outside vendors
- Must be customer-focused and a problem solver
- Demonstrate strong written and oral skills
- Computer literate with skills in event management software, MS Office/Word, Excel required
- Familiarity with Cvent, Constant Contact, Wix, Asana, Dropbox, Zoom, Canvas highly desired.
- Additional languages a plus
- Knowledge of the Atlanta event, entertainment, and dining scene a plus
Physical Demands: Intermittent sitting, standing, stooping. Typically walking and/or standing. Light lifting or carrying of 25 lbs or less. Requires good hearing and good near and distance color vision.
