For over 25 years, StreetWise Partners has driven career success and advanced economic mobility for underrepresented talent from historically underserved communities.  StreetWise Partners’ one-year mentoring program provides customized, individualized mentorship for internship and job seekers while helping them establish an expansive professional network made up of hundreds of advocates who open doors and support long term career success. StreetWise Partners launched its first program in New York City in 1997, expanded to Washington D.C. in 2006 and to Michigan in 2019. StreetWise Partners has served 8,000 mentees through the support of 15,000 volunteer mentors.

Job Overview:

StreetWise Partners seeks a highly-organized, detail-oriented Development Assistant to provide support with fundraising operations. Specifically, the Assistant will track and maintain donor data, generate and run reports, support donor engagement and assist with events to support the department in fulfilling its annual fundraising plan.  This is an ideal position for someone who has strong project management skills, is looking to join a growing organization and learn about non-profit fundraising.

This is a full-time position in NYC, reporting to the Chief Development Officer. The role is hybrid. Some evenings are required.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Assist the Development team with administrative and logistical tasks that support fundraising initiatives; assist in raising annual budget of $2.5m.
    Record and track important donor information in Salesforce database (i.e. demographics, gift history, campaigns, communication efforts) and generate reports to assist with ongoing analysis and identification of fundraising opportunities.
  • Generate monthly fundraising reports for finance team; support reconciliation and preparation for annual audit.
  • Support fundraising campaign execution; maintain accurate records and mailing lists, run mail mergers, coordinate with printers, and ensure that deadlines are being met. Produce timely acknowledgements to donors/funders.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support in the planning and execution of two annual fundraising events including a poker tournament and breakfast fundraiser; manage guest lists, coordinate supplies, generate marketing materials and support day-of operations.
  • Provide critical support for weekly corporate events; oversee registration lists and waivers, organize and manage technology for virtual events, manage calendaring, and capture client and volunteer data in Salesforce. Engage with clients by organizing and hosting prep meetings to ensure a positive experience.
  • Support prospecting for new donors; research key companies and individuals; create profiles for senior team.
  • Provide department leadership with regular progress reports and updates on all projects.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of work experience in data and project management; experience with fundraising department is preferred.
  • Keen attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are required; experience with Salesforce or other data management software a plus.
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently while communicating effectively with team members.
  • Strong ethics and discretion with sensitive material.
  • Willingness to be flexible, open-minded, and a highly engaged team player.
  • A sense of humor balanced with a sincere interest in the mission.
