TRIO Program Intern

Community Teen Coalition, is currently seeking Bachelors and Masters Level internships positions within our organization to support our several TRIO Programs. Community Teen Coalition has Upward Bound (Fulton County and Griffin-Spalding County Schools), Upward Bound Math and Science (Griffin-Spalding County School) and Educational Talent Search programs (Clayton County Schools). Our Intern will have similar duties as our Counseling staff, depending on education level. This is an unpaid internship.

• conducts group and individual sessions;
• assists full-time staff  with student activities; provides academic advisement; 
• assists seniors with college admissions and financial aid; recruits potential students;
• conducts workshops with parents and students; visits target schools weekly to meet with students;
• assists full-time staff with after-school tutoring supervision; maintains student records;
• recruits students for the program;
•  interviews parents of potential students;
• assists full-time staff with orientation for new students and parents;
• maintains relationships with target school counselors and other key school personnel;
• assists with pre and post testing of students;
• assists with tracking of program graduates;
• assists with development of program promotional literature;
• other duties as assigned by the Program Director

Education Requirement: 

Bachelors Level Interns:

• Must have high school diploma and show current enrollment in college/university.
• Must be in their Senior year of school, under an internship program.
• Must successfully complete a background check, in addition to other hiring requirements. 

Masters/Graduate Level Interns: 

• Must have Bachelors Degree and show current enrollment in college/university.
• Must be in their 2nd year of school, under an internship/practicum program.
• Must successfully complete a background check, in addition to other hiring requirements.
• Masters/Graduate level Interns will have more duties and individual contact with students.
