Your work as the Associate Director of the https://giving.nd.edu/giving-societies/cavanaugh-council/ and https://giving.nd.edu/giving-societies/presidents-circle/ directly impacts the University's flexibility to meet critical needs, advance strategic initiatives, and face unexpected challenges: from enriching the undergraduate experience and advancing Notre Dame's distinctive Catholic mission to responding to critical needs and priorities. The Cavanaugh Council and President's Circle programs have been instrumental in helping Notre Dame's President help build a great Catholic research university for the 21st century.

 

As a team, we strive to deliver the highest level of donor stewardship and engagement to each member. Membership is composed of alumni, parents and friends and includes leadership-level donors such as key university trustees and advisory councils members who contributed over $27 million of unrestricted gifts in FY22. The main responsibilities of this position will be to oversee 7-10 annual events and experiences including the Washington, D.C. Symposium featuring the nation's most important leaders, managing the annual budget, performing an annual engagement analysis, liaising with the Special Events team and the President's Office, and providing fundraiser support.

Key Goals & Activities:The goals of this team are to retain 90% of our membership, add over 120 new members each fiscal year, and raise $30 million by June 2023.

 

• Innovate and develop strategies for growing the membership base and increasing unrestricted giving among current membership.

• Strategically plan and manage the processes, procedures, and budget surrounding the program's financial and event operations.

• Offer an unsurpassed membership experience by delivering concierge-level service for all events and communications; deftly managing key member benefits such as athletic events and other visits to campus; and connecting benefactors with University leadership in meaningful and engaging ways.

• Collaborate and innovate with regional development officers to recruit prospective members, engage new members and drive retention of current members, and coordinate the annual renewal process for assigned region/fundraising groups.

Minimum Qualifications:

 

• Bachelor’s degree

• 5 + years of professional experience

• Excellent event planning & execution experience

• Project management skills such as the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines; engagement tracking and analysis skills; excellent time management and organizational skills, etc.

• Strong interpersonal skills required for developing positive relationships with high-level University benefactors, top University leadership, fundraisers, students, faculty and staff

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills

• Experience using Excel, Google suite, and the ability to embrace and learn new software

• Ability to work some evening and weekend hours depending upon activities and events associated with the Cavanaugh Council and President’s Circle Program
