Job Description: 1st Grade Homeroom Teacher
We are seeking a qualified full-time 1st grade homeroom teacher who preferably has experience working in a Catholic private school setting. The 1st grade teacher will be proficient in all core subject areas of math, science, English language arts, social studies and religion. S/he will share a growth mindset, hold students to high expectations and have an aptitude for social emotional teaching.
Requirements/Qualifications:
The successful candidate will
- preferably speak Spanish to help aid in communication with families understand the mission of Catholic schools
- possess exceptional organizational skills be proficient with computer technology including word processing, google suite, google classroom, google calendar, email and a variety of teaching software (Freckle, Brain Pop, CTN, Generation Genius, to name a few..)
- have demonstrated professionalism, flexibility, empathy and care in collaboration with colleagues
- have excellent communication skills with stakeholders including parents and colleagues
- preferably have three or more years of teaching experience with the 1st grade level
- possess a valid CA teaching credential or have a credential/license from another state
- preferably have earned a Master’s degree in Education or a related field

Faculty have been trained in blended learning and utilize Freckle software in a classroom rotational teaching model. Candidates will be proficient in:
- Establishing a nurturing classroom environment and practices that encourage and strengthen a strong, positive Catholic culture throughout the school. Creating lessons that utilize Archdiocesan approved textbooks and employ methodologies and strategies inclusive to the different learning styles of the students.
- The Archdiocesan Curriculum Guidelines and the California Common Core State Standards, in alignment with our Schoolwide Learning Expectations, provide the basis for instruction.
Salary/Benefits
Teachers are paid based on the published salary scale from the Archdiocese of San Francisco Department of Catholic Schools (https://www.sfarchdiocese.org/catholicschools). Full time teachers are eligible for benefits.
