Responsibilities:
- Coordinates English as a Second Language (ESL) to adults
- Coordinates Spanish classes for adults as needed
- Coordinates Adult Education classes for adults as needed
- Prepares curriculum for classes
- Prepares logistically for in-person and online classes
- Gathers information to create, enhance and embellish curriculum
- Manages community partnerships
- Prepares and distributes information about class offerings in English and in Spanish
- Provides assistance for the clients and staff as needed
- Recruits and trains volunteers to teach and support classes
- Manages and trains location coordinators as needed
- Other duties as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) in social work, social sciences, education, or a related field
- Experience in working with schools and/or families and children;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Strong leadership, management and organizational skills;
- Strong administrative skills;
- Familiarity with adult education and public school systems;
- Able to work independently, meet deadlines, work under stress, be resourceful and function as an effective team member;
- Valid Georgia driver’s license, proof of vehicle liability insurance and pass a criminal background check.
- Desire to serve students and families in need with a demonstrated passion for service and working with children.
- Demonstrated relationship-building and communication skills with a variety of audiences
- Working knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese both written and verbal preferred
