Alliance for the Arts, AFTA, is looking for a Director of Development with extensive experience to continue cultivating and expanding the organization’s financial capacity. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive and Artistic Director to identify and engage current and prospective donors, foundations, grant opportunities, and community relationships. This position requires a dynamic leader capable of increasing financial commitment to the organization and creating an environment for AFTA  to thrive.

General Information

  • Location: Fort Myers, Florida

    Employment Type: Full-time, flexible work arrangements (on-site and remote)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and grow AFTA’s donor base.
  • Identify, write, and submit grants.
  • Secure corporate sponsorships.
  • Fundraise and develop other revenues necessary to support AFTA’s mission.
  • Rebuild a strong legacy gifting program
  • Build a team to contribute to the strategic development of the organization.
  • Work with other AFTA staff on ad hoc projects as assigned.

Basic Requirements

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Familiarity with Donor Perfect and/or other CRM donor database management systems.
  • Excellent grant writing skills and proven success in grant acquisition.
  • Crafting dynamic Sponsorship Proposals
  • Managerial skills.
  • Previous fundraising/revenue generating work.
