More About Us

Jacob’s Ladder is a non-profit, SAIS-SACS accredited private school serving students pre-k through 12th grade, utilizing a whole-brain, whole-child educational approach. Additionally, as a therapeutic and rehabilitative-based entity, we serve individuals from infancy to young adulthood using a comprehensive, integrated, and evidence-based therapeutic service model. These individuals could be experiencing a wide range of neurodevelopmental challenges such as developmental delays, autism spectrum disorders, traumatic brain injury, stroke, genetic syndromes, or emotional-behavioral-relational challenges in tandem with mental health diagnoses. Being strength-based in nature, our programs focus on improving an individual’s social, physiological, behavioral, academic, and mental/emotional health.

Our families and clients would also call Jacob’s Ladder a place of transformation, healing, and wonder. Our campuses offer full-time and part-time enrollment options in a variety of learning environments in addition to one-to-one ratios with focuses on neurodevelopmental intensives, higher levels of support warranted due to medical, physiological, or behavioral complexities, or shorter-term enrollment. Within our learning model, students will also have the opportunity to participate in a menu of activities to include peer exposure, interactive academics, enrichment opportunities, and individualized neurodevelopmental, independence, and/or emotional-behavioral-relational program-focused goals.

Additionally, through our Global Remote Services and Community of Care In-Home Support, Jacob’s Ladder delivers our Interpersonal Whole-Brain Model of Care™ to the global special needs community on nearly every continent, through in-home, school, or community campus support, to underserved areas through our Love Without Borders initiative by placing a trained provider in the community of the family to implement the intensive program designed specifically for the individuals’ neurodevelopmental needs. Through caseload management, Jacob’s Ladder monitors the individual’s progress through remote conference calls with the family and provider, maintaining oversight of all caseload management.

Our approach is customized and tailored with specific interventions and modalities of implementation, then shared across all providers to ensure consistency of care and all-encompassing wrap-around services. The Jacob’s Ladder programming interventions are methodically measured and evaluated, while simultaneously being compared by nationally recognized educational and clinical measurement tools to validate programming outcomes. In addition, we employ the use of qEEG (Quantitative Electroencephalogram) technology as an initial and continuous comparative measure assessed alongside Jacob’s Ladder programming and interventions.

Every day, our clients overcome challenges and reach goals once thought impossible through our whole-brain, whole-person approach:

  • Establishing communication
  • Managing emotions
  • Meaningfully connecting with others
  • Gaining motor skills
  • Learning to self-regulate and independently advocate for their own wellbeing
  • Succeeding academically
  • Achieving independence within the home and work environments

Our Interpersonal Whole-Brain Model of Care™ has transformed the lives of thousands of families, connecting science and love to achieve outstanding, replicable results backed by nearly 25 years of data.

We serve not only our clients and families, but also intend to change the conversation globally around educational and rehabilitative possibilities for all individuals who experience brain-based challenges, whether mental health-related, physical, or cognitive, through research, training, certification, and licensure.
