The Spina Bifida Association (SBA) is the nation’s only national voluntary health organization that focuses on building a better and brighter future for all those impacted by Spina Bifida through education, advocacy, research, support, and clinical care. Spina Bifida occurs during fetal development, resulting in a gap or lesion on the spinal column. Although the gap can be closed or lesion removed, Spina Bifida is a lifelong condition that can result in mobility, neurological, bowel & bladder, and learning challenges. It’s the most commonly occurring, permanently disabling birth defect compatible with life.

JOB SUMMARY

The Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Manager is a critical role within the Special Events team at SBA. This individual supports the execution of all of SBA’s peer-to-peer fundraising events, including SBA’s signature Walk-N-Roll and other events as assigned. The Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Manager has a broad range of duties including event logistics, recruitment and retention of participant fundraisers, and securing event sponsorships This position reports directly to the National Director of Special Events but also will work closely with the National Director of Field Relations in coordinating peer-to-peer events with local SBA volunteers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recruit and effectively engage volunteer teams from assigned geographic regions to organize local Walk-N-Roll events and other special events Ensure that special events achieve organizational goals and ensure brand compliance and a strong participant experience at assigned events Support all logistics related to executing special peer-to-peer events, including site selection, A/V, food and beverage, signage, and other critical logistics Secure sponsorships for assigned special events and meet sponsorship goals Support the recruitment and retention of participants, as well as fundraising for other peer-to-peer events as assigned Meet both recruitment and fundraising goals as set by the team

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting peer-to-peer fundraising events, including event production, securing sponsorships, and recruiting participants Track record of success growing revenue through peer-to-peer fundraising events Ability to mobilize, inspire, and work collaboratively with volunteers to successfully execute events Experience in volunteer and donor engagement in a CRM system and peer-to-peer fundraising platform Strong results-orientation and commitment to delivering on established organizational goals Demonstrated ability to multitask, meet deadlines, work independently, and produce results under pressure Outstanding organizational and communication skills Must display a positive attitude, self-confidence, adaptability, and creativity Desire to be part of a fast-paced, mission-focused, and collaborative team of high- performing nonprofit professionals Bachelor's degree required Commitment to working with people affected by Spina Bifida

SALARY AND BENEFITS

REQUIREMENTS/OTHER TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
