Would you like to be part of the team working daily to help students develop the skills they need to succeed in adulthood? Bearings is looking for a youth program professional to join our team and lead and support the programs delivering impact to our community.
JOB SUMMARY:
Bearings Bike Works is an innovative youth development program that uses bikes to help students develop the skills they need to successfully transition into adulthood. Bearings is looking for an energetic, passionate person to join our team and play an important role in supporting student learning through Bearings programming.
The Program Development Specialist is a key member of the Bearings’ Team and serves as the operational backbone of Bearings youth programs. If you are are passionate about making a difference in the lives of youth in the city of Atlanta, this direct service role is rewarding and meaningful in so many ways.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Program Design Implementation:
Oversee program prep and delivery for students and families that visit Bearings Monday through Thursday
Maintain records for program evaluation purposes
Curriculum Development
Collaboratively work with other Bearings team members to innovate and deliver top-notch, impactful programming through ongoing curriculum development
Maintain great documentation of program processes and procedures for future impact
Participant Support
Build relationships with program participants and parents to ensure families feel welcome, supported and excited to attend Bearings programs
Support students as they develop skills, encouraging them in their growth and progress
Maintain great relationships with program volunteers as they participate in program delivery and impact
Build and maintain relationships with community partners so that new families can learn about Bearings program offerings
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong verbal and written communication skills and professional maturity
Experience in working/volunteering with youth.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Excellent interpersonal skills required; ability to interact with youth, staff, volunteers, and parents in a positive, professional manner.
A desire to make a positive impact.
OTHER NOTES
In order to serve our students well, the work schedule for this position Monday-Thursday 9:45am-6:45pm and 9am-5pm Fridays.
Specific programs or events may occasionally operate outside of weekly scheduled hours. In these few cases, the successful candidate will be able to take a regularly scheduled work day off.
Salary range $39,000-$43,000 annually plus benefits and generous PTO
