Job Details

Summary
Reporting to the Director of Alumni Engagement, the Regional Engagement Manager coordinates alumni programs and services designed to foster relationships between the Institute and its alumni. The manager provides support and strategic direction for the regional alumni with a focus on growing engagement among inactive alumni populations. The manager ensures a rewarding and impactful experience for alumni who serve as volunteer leaders and works to increase opportunities for alumni to connect. The manager will build partnerships with internal stakeholders, campus entities, and other partners to effectively meet the Association’s strategic goals through regional engagement.

Important position requirements are experience in volunteer management, awareness of best practices related to alumni engagement, understanding of the engagement process, strong project management skills, proven interpersonal and organizational skills, data analysis experience and successful results within long and short-range plan implementation.


Responsibilities
Management of all Regional Networks and Regional Ambassadors

  • Develop annual strategies with the alumni leaders to grow their communities and create engaging programming.
  • Equip alumni volunteers with the training and tools necessary to execute impactful engagement opportunities.
  • Steward relationships with the regional alumni through personal outreach and traveling to conduct in-person visits.
  • Manage all communications with alumni volunteers related to programming.
  • Provide regular statistical reports on the status of program areas.

Event Planning & Support

  • Communicate with key stakeholders regarding their participation in and/or attendance at events, both on and off campus, and coordinating schedules accordingly.
  • Write content and build event registration pages and emails using the Alumni Association’s email marketing platform.
  • Coordinate with the Engagement team to keep a master calendar of events and communications.
  • Coordinate virtual engagement activities across the department, specifically those not volunteer-generated. These programs are developed by Engagement Team staff members and open to all alumni.
  • Maintain meticulous records of attendees and ensure proper post-event reporting.
  • Participate cooperatively in the Institute’s constituent management and tracking system (Blackbaud CRM).

Member of the Engagement team

  • Assist the VP of Engagement and Director of Alumni Engagement in planning and implementing events and other initiatives based on the strategic priorities of the Alumni Association.
  • Work collaboratively with the Engagement team and campus partners to execute strategies that achieve maximum program success. Continually search for intersections between programs to support collaborations.
  • Work closely with Strategic Communications to properly market and support alumni events.
  • Serve as liaison between the groups and the internal marketing team sharing insights and best practices for successful activities.
  • Represent the Georgia Tech Alumni Association at Institute, community, and professional functions, as requested.
  • Some weekend travel and evening hours are required.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience developing programs and managing volunteers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, especially Word and Excel
  • Experience with social media platforms
  • Adept at learning new software applications
  • High ethics, optimism, and enthusiasm, Sense of humor a must
  • Ability to work as a team member in a high-energy environment, along with proven skills of flexibility and adaptability to change
  • Strong project management skills, able to manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
