Communications and Program Manager

The Africa Grantmakers' Affinity Group is seeking a Communications and Program Manager who is responsible for a range of related communications and programs activities in support of promoting private philanthropy to benefit African communities.  The estimated level of effort will be program (40%), communications (45%), and administration (15%). The CPM works closely with and reports to the Executive Director. The ideal CPM has excellent communications skills, is a self-starter who can manage multiple projects and respond to changing priorities, thinks creatively, and learns quickly. We are looking for a CPM who proactively communicates, can build relationships in a virtual working environment, and excited about being a part of our work.

Communications Responsibilities

• Manage public facing communications platforms (social media, email, website)
• Maintenance CMS systems (AirTable)
• Support internal communications with steering committee, consultants, members, and partners
• Draft and edit digital and printed content for digital and print products (blogs, newsletters, reports, podcasts, etc.)
• Develop communications strategy and products to future our mission


Program Responsibilities

• Coordinate hybrid, virtual, and in-person events
• 
 Schedule interviews and assist in podcast production

• Conduct research and produce summary reports

• Manage online community platform

• Represent the network at external meetings


Administration Responsibilities

• Manage communications and program calendars
• Produce emails, letter, reports, and other materials
• 
Support systems to maintain and enhance virtual working environment
