About Caring Across Generations:

Caring Across Generations is a national campaign working to make care more affordable and accessible at every stage of life, while making sure caregivers are treated with respect and dignity. Founded in 2011 by Sarita Gupta and Ai-jen Poo, our campaign is focused on creating change in three ways: organizing a powerful movement of the Caring Majority - the majority of Americans who are directly affected by the need for care, fighting for groundbreaking policy at the state and federal level, and changing hearts and minds through storytelling and cultural organizing.

How will you create change while working with us?

The care movement is experiencing a period of incredible opportunity. The collective experience of the COVID pandemic thrust care into the national spotlight and we are seeing a shift in the way our country values and provides care. With over a decade of relationships, learnings, and successes in this work, the team at Caring Across is primed to continue to make an impact with state and national organizing for major advances towards creating care systems that are equitable, inclusive, and sustainable.

The Director of Partnerships and Engagement will ensure our team is coordinated to win strategic campaigns at the federal and state level that increase funding for the care infrastructure, improve access to quality home and community -based services, child care and paid leave policies, and strengthen the Caring Majority – everyone who gives or receives care. The director will work closely with all areas of the organization to make sure that the culture and narrative change work supports the work going on with state and national campaigns, and that our partners and advocates have resources that they need to organize for change.

The Director will work closely with all teams and provide strategic guidance and engagement expertise to advance our programmatic goals. They will manage and mentor a small but mighty team and oversee our national and state-based campaigns. They will also need to be ready to step in and execute when the occasion calls for all-hands-on-deck, especially in critical campaign moments.

Specifically, the work will include the following responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Care Fellowship program, provide supportive and strategic leadership to the Constituency Team as they manage the day-to-day operations of the program.
  • Collaborate with coalition  partners to identify, develop, and lead engagement opportunities that will grow, strengthen, and activate our constituency.
  • Work closely with our Advocacy, Campaigns, Culture Change, and Development teams as a strategist and leader on a variety of strategic initiatives and campaigns.

Team & Project Management

  • With respect to annual and long-term strategy and with direction from senior leadership, manage each step of the annual regrant process to federal and state partners.
