Development Manager

CURE Childhood Cancer is seeking an experienced individual to serve as Development Manager. Reporting to the Director of Individual Giving, the Development Manager will play an integral role in supporting CURE’s Individual Giving program and revenue growth from this important constituency. A successful candidate for this role is someone who is highly organized, comfortable working behind-the-scenes and being forward facing, and has a genuine interest in advancing CURE’s mission.     

General Responsibilities:

Support and maintain the vision, mission, priorities, and guiding principles of CURE, as established by the Board of Directors.  Understand the strategic direction and purpose of CURE and conform to the stated strategies and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide back-end support for CURE’s Annual Fund campaigns by creating queries, generating mailing lists, and updating donor records in our database, Raisers Edge.
  • Coordinate the Board of Directors’ participation in Annual Fund initiatives including managing their personal appeals, providing them with timely reports, and coordinating their outreach efforts to Major Gift donors.
  • Support growth of CURE’s Major Gift program by identifying/researching prospects from CURE’s new and existing donors and managing a small portfolio of prospects with an eye to solicit for a major gift ($1,000+).
  • Manage gift reporting, milestone acknowledgement, and stewardship support for CURE’s Named Funds.
  • Co-manage CURE’s monthly giving program to ensure donors’ giving is up-to-date and support ongoing communications with these donors.
  • Support stewardship touchpoints of Major Gift donors throughout the calendar year, including personalized communications by mail, email, phone, and event invitations.
  • Respond to donor needs and questions in a timely manner with excellent customer service.
  • Provide logistical support for donor cultivation events including guest list/RSVP management and working with vendors.
  • Provide administrative support for Annual Fund Committee meetings.
  • Perform all other job-related responsibilities and duties as required by Board of Directors, CEO and/or Director of Individual Giving.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in development preferred;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Raisers Edge;
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines effectively;
  • Superior organizational skills and strict attention to detail a must;
  • Demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service and communicate with a wide range of constituents by mail, email, phone, and in-person interactions.
  • Willingness to take initiative and awareness of when to consult supervisor for direction;
  • Knowledge of basic fundraising principles and practices; Comfortable creating new processes and procedures;
  • Must be able to travel through expanded Atlanta metropolitan area and provide reliable transportation.
