Responsibilities & Duties
-
Drafting demand packages related to landlord tenant matters
-
Drafting complaints, form motions in Georgia state courts for landlord tenant matters
-
Maintaining documents, calendaring docket deadlines, and coordination and monitoring of relevant dockets
-
Preparing and organizing of a variety of documents, forms, charts, letters, etc.
-
Compiling documents to comply with Georgia discovery and evidentiary rules
-
Managing client caseload of 40-50 cases with oversight from assigned attorney
-
Providing support, guidance to clients using client-centered trauma informed lawyering

Assisting with administrative duties as assigned

Supporting the civil rights practice as needed
Law Student Clerkship, Externship, or Internship
(Full-Time & Part-Time Positions Available) Qualifications
-
Obtained a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
-
Paralegal certificate
-
Residence in Atlanta metropolitan area
-
2 years of experience working as a litigation paralegal
-
Experience working in the nonprofit sector, civil rights litigation, and/or poverty law
-
Knowledge of intersectionality, client-centered lawyering, and equity and/or willingness to learn these firm values
-
Prior experience working with/ties to low-income individuals and communities of color preferred, but not required.

Excellent computer skills with a proven facility with data management, process flow, and database tracking systems.
-
Strong writing, analytical, interpersonal, time-management, and communications skills required.
-
Must be organized, detail-oriented, and have the ability to work effectively under pressure in both a team setting and individually.
Compensation

Salaried Position: $45,000-$52,000 (Depending on experience)
