Job Details

Our House is searching for our next accounting team member to support our work in our growing organization.  Reporting to the CFO the newest addition to our team will have responsibilities in the following areas:

Finance Responsibilities

  • Performs technical accounting and bookkeeping work in receivables processing, documenting, posting and reconciliation with donor software. 
  • Manage the time keeping software and process payroll accurately and in a timely fashion 
  • Assists with the management of the accounts receivable subsidiary ledger and aging reports to ensure payments are received timely and applied appropriately. 
  • Responsible for monthly reconciliation of benefit payments (IRA, Insurance etc.) to assure all accounts are current and that staff are enrolled in the appropriate benefit options. 
  • Assists with the preparation of grant budgets Prepare assigned functions required for month-end closing. 
  • Work closely with program staff and finance team to coordinate and provide documentation for grant site visits and all other financial audits.

HR Responsibilities

  • Coordinates development, maintenance, implementation and communication of all HR policies and procedures.
  • Implement and maintain  systems related to recruitment, onboarding, staff communication, and staff exit.
  • Support leadership on disciplinary action and grievance procedures and to identify training needs.
  • Maintains employee personnel files in compliance with all applicable regulatory sources conducting ongoing audits to ensure agency compliancy
  • Administers and manages all benefit programs. Meet reporting deadlines, both internal and external, support program staff as necessary to maintain compliance.

IT Responsibilities

  • Coordination of the IT Vendor.
  • Ensure teams have the tools needed to stay connected and complete their work.
  • Maintain inventory of all IT Equipment.
  • Respond to general IT related inquiries.

General

Demonstrates passion and support for the mission of Our House Performs general accounting functions as assigned. Completes special projects as assigned. Demonstrates the flexibility necessary to adjust to changing/additional duties and responsibilities as the organization grows and changes

Desired Qualifications and Skills

BA in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience.

Experience:   1-2 years of experience in accounting related tasks, preferably in a nonprofit environment working with Government Grants.

  • Experience with QuickBooks
  • General bookkeeping skills
  • Extremely organized and meticulous with details
  • Excellent Communicator

  • Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment.

  • Must have above average proficiency in MS Office software – Word, Excel.
  • Proficiency in basic technology set up, solutions and problem solving.
