Job Details

Georgia Baptist Children’s Homes and Family Ministries is seeking a Director for Bright Foster Care. This individual should meet the following qualifications:
1. Christian of dependable character and a loyal and supportive member of a
cooperating Southern Baptist Church.
2. Demonstrated Christian compassion for children and families in need, who has
proven effectiveness in the service of others and in administrative leadership.
3. Integrity in the handling of others’ funds and in the handling of personal funds
and commitments.
4. Communicating the ministry of GBCH&FM in church pulpits and in a variety of
other scheduled meetings.
5. Skills necessary for effective writing in preparation of letters, articles, brochures,
minutes and any other material required within the assigned area.
6. Must have an undergraduate Bachelor’s degree plus a Master’s Degree from an
accredited school in a related area of responsibility.
7. Have a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience.
8. Experience in Foster Care programs.
9. Working knowledge of Federal, State, and local regulations concerning Foster Care services

The Foster Care Director is responsible for the operation and general supervision of the Bright Foster Care Program of GBCH&FM. The Director works under the supervision of the Vice President of Ministries.

Primary job responsibilities include the following:
1. Short and long range planning including goals for improvements of programs,
financial development, staff recruitment, training, physical facilities and the
planning of additional ministries.
2. Has general oversight of all personnel in the assigned program(s), ensuring an
annual review of performance of all employees.
3. Work with churches, referral agencies and service organizations to identify and
meet the needs of the changing society in the area of family ministries.
4. Process payroll and finance in accordance with agency procedures and standards.
5. Enforce all policies of the Board of Trustees and shall follow closely the
guidelines and regulations set by the Georgia Baptist Convention, the Federal,
State and local governments.
6. Ensure program maintains proper licenses, meet accreditation and contract
standards.
7. Monitor income and expenses and participate in budget administration.
