Georgia Baptist Children’s Homes and Family Ministries is seeking an Administrator for the Palmetto, Georgia Division.


This individual should meet the following qualifications:

1. Christian of dependable character and a loyal and supportive member of a
cooperating Southern Baptist Church.
2. Demonstrated Christian compassion for children and families in need, who has
proven effectiveness in the service of others and in administrative leadership.
3. Integrity in the handling of others’ funds and in the handling of personal funds
and commitments.
4. Communicating the ministry of GBCH&FM in church pulpits and in a variety of
other scheduled meetings.
5. Skills necessary for effective writing in preparation of letters, articles, brochures,
minutes and any other material required within the assigned area.
6. Relate well to all staff and be able to manage and use well the delegated authority
from the President/Chief Executive Officer.
7. Must have an undergraduate Bachelor’s degree plus a Master’s Degree from an
accredited school in a related area of responsibility.
8. Have a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience.

The Administrator is responsible for the operation and general supervision of the Palmetto Division of GBCH&FM. The Administrator works under the supervision of the Vice President of Ministries.

Primary job responsibilities include the following:
1. Short and long range planning including goals for improvements of programs,
financial development, staff recruitment, training, physical facilities and the
planning of additional ministries.
2. General oversight of all personnel in the assigned program, ensuring an annual
review of performance of all employees.
3. Maintain a high visibility in the assigned area, promoting the total agency
ministry for the state through brochures, communicating with Associational
Missionaries and churches through personal contacts and speaking engagements.
4. Process payroll and finance in accordance with agency procedures and standards.
5. Responsible for the allocation of the approved budget amount to division
programming and Monitor revenue and expenses and operate division within
budget guidelines.
6. Enforce all policies of the Board of Trustees and shall follow closely the
guidelines and regulations set by the Georgia Baptist Convention, the Federal,
State and local governments.
7. Ensure all programs in the assigned area maintain proper licenses, meet
accreditation and contract standards.
