The Mental Health Clinician provides individual and group counseling and consultation in an HIV prevention/medical clinic. The MH Clinician conducts screenings and intakes, and implements client-centered treatment plans. The work schedule includes occasional evenings and/or Saturdays.
- Completing and maintaining accurate records regarding the clients’ histories and progress, services provided, or other required information.
- Counseling clients individually or in group sessions.
- Counseling clients with substance abuse/Co-occurring disorders.
- Interviewing clients to gather information about their backgrounds, needs, or progress.
- Collaborating with other professionals to assess client needs or plan treatments.
- Reviewing and evaluating clients’ progress in relation to measurable goals described in treatment and care plans.
- Monitoring clients to evaluate treatment progress.
- Intervening as an advocate for clients to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.
- Coordinating counseling efforts with mental health professionals or other health professionals
- Modifying treatment plans to comply with changes in client status.
- Participating in weekly treatment team meetings
Requirements
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or a related field
- One-year experience in social services or mental health agency and/or equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Licensed or license-eligible in Georgia (LPC, APC, LCSW, LMSW, Licensed Psychologist, LMFT); fully licensed preferred.
