This, full-time hourly non-exempt position will report to the Associate Director for Programming and Outreach, with the primary responsibility of assisting them with the day-to-day running of the marketing and communications for the SCPA. Occasional nights and weekends are required.

The successful candidate will be a well-organized, self-motivated team player who is willing to support the many activities of a small department. They will have excellent interpersonal skills, be impeccable with details, and can facilitate several projects at any one time. Please note: the Emory University Careers site lists the full possible job description of an administrative assistant at the university; however, the main responsibilities of this position are as follows:

  • Assist in the creation and completion of all marketing campaigns. This includes all elements of marketing activity including, but not limited to, advertising, direct mail, print distribution, emails, and promotions. Under the supervision of AD for P&E, responsibility for implementing logistics of the annual marketing production calendar and tracking related expenses.
  • Assist in the sourcing and generation of digital content for the SCPA website, calendar listings through Trumba, social media channels, and online ticketing descriptions through TNEW. Overall responsibility for ensuring digital content is accurate and up to date at all times. Collects and reports on digital analytics data to help evaluate the effectiveness of marketing content and channels.
  • Carry out task-basked and administrative work generated by the above activities, including Accounts Payable and Receivable for marketing and advertising. This includes vendor set-up, payment processing and tracking, and assisting with reconciliation of monthly ledgers and maintaining departmental records.
  • Assist at performances on an as-needed basis. These duties may include, but are not limited to, assisting with patron relations, assisting with the execution of special events and receptions, and managing and executing merchandise sales and settlements. 
  • General administrative assistance to the Schwartz Center administrative staff as needed and other administrative duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with social media, including Instagram and Facebook.
  • Basic HTML and experience with website content management systems, such as Cascade.
  • Familiarity with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics.
  • Experience processing payments and reconciling accounting ledgers, particularly in a database system such as Compass.
  • Administrative experience in a performing arts venue.

NOTE: Many position tasks are generally required to be performed in person at the Schwartz Center. Remote work from home day options may be available.
