Destination: Home, a 501(c)3 supporting organization of Silicon Valley Community Foundation, is a public-private partnership ending homelessness in Silicon Valley. Through our collective impact model, we convene and collaborate with stakeholders across our community to address the root causes of homelessness and drive true systemic change. We embrace a data-driven and human approach - advocating for policies, incubating new ideas and programs and investing in strategies to connect more of our homeless neighbors to a stable home and prevent homelessness before it begins. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a full-time, exempt level position in San Jose, California.

All employees are required to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination.  New employees will be required to provide proof of full vaccination (up-to-date vaccination) prior to onboarding.  New employees can be considered for a medical or religious accommodation by providing the appropriate accommodation documentation.  Documentation is provided upon request to Human Resources. 

JOB SUMMARY

As a member of Destination: Home’s Public Policy and Communications team, the Community Outreach and Education Officer will play a key role in advancing Destination: Home’s key strategic priorities and the 2020-2025 Community Plan to End Homelessness by:

  • Reaching out to stakeholders throughout the community
  • Educating the public on the causes and solutions to homelessness
  • Representing Destination: Home in a variety of public and private venues
