Kate’s Club Overview
Kate’s Club, a non-profit supporting children and teens facing life after the death of a parent, sibling, or caregiver, is seeking a full-time Outreach Coordinator in Metro Atlanta. Founded in 2003, Kate’s Club envisions a world in which it’s okay to grieve. We build healing communities through recreational and therapeutic group programs, education, and advocacy. We serve children and families through programming at our Clubhouse located in Brookhaven, GA, and in school-based groups throughout metro Atlanta. Kate’s Club is seeking a full-time Metro Atlanta Outreach Coordinator to sustain and grow our community outreach program and services throughout metro Atlanta.
Position Summary
The Metro Atlanta Outreach Coordinator will report directly to the State Outreach Manager and will play an integral role in advancing the organization’s efforts to reach the more than 90,000 children and teens, and more than 150,000 young adults, in Metro Atlanta facing life after the death of a parent, sibling, or primary caregiver.
This position requires availability on some evenings and weekends.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duty: Coordination of all school and community groups and other outreach grief support in metro Atlanta
- Manage all school and community groups in the metro Atlanta area, ensuring consistency of curriculum and quality of program
- Oversee group facilitators who provide support groups in different schools and organizations Provide professional trainings on a variety of topics related to childhood bereavement
- Facilitate grief support groups as needed
- Advise State Outreach Manager regularly on work assignments and staffing issues
- Coordinate community care for schools and organizations that have experienced the death of a community member
- Directly implement outreach activities with children and adults, following the training and guidance of Kate’s Club’s Director of Programs & Partnerships
Duty: Track and report the progress of metro Atlanta outreach efforts
- Continually assess KC Connects for effectiveness and offer informed input for needs of program
- Working with State Outreach Manager and Data & Outcomes Manager, administer pre-and post-assessments (e.g., Bereavement Needs Assessment) in select school groups, analyze results to inform group needs, and develop curriculum
- Keep track of all data related to groups and community outreach
- Ensure the evaluation of all groups and facilitators
Duty: Ensure growth of Kate’s Club Connects within Metro Atlanta
- Increase awareness of Kate’s Club within the broader Atlanta community with a focus on organizations that interact with grieving children such as schools, faith organizations, hospitals, counseling agencies, etc.
- Build and steward relationships with partner agencies, schools, community organizations, etc. who can serve as referral sources, sites for KC Connects outreach programs, and as allies or advocates for the needs of grieving children in metro Atlanta and beyond
- Represent Kate’s Club at resource fairs, public meetings, and other community events
- Keep detailed records of all outreach activities
Qualifications and Skills
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree is required in a human or social services field, and a Master’s degree is considered favorably
Experience:
- Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience working in a social service or mental health-related field
- A familiarity with metro Atlanta social services sectors
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- An understanding of bereavement and a passion for the Kate’s Club mission
- Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to demonstrate presence, self-confidence, good judgment, and effectively listen to others
- High degree of accountability, responsibility, and professional integrity
- Aptitude for data management, including proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Google Suite, case management software, and data management principles
- Ability to work independently and be resourceful
Other Requirements:
- Willing to travel within metro Atlanta area and work flexible hours including some evenings (up to four evenings per month) and weekends (one to two weekend days per month)
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Must have a valid Georgia driver’s license and clean driving record
Salary and Benefits
This position is full-time. Salary range is $42,000 to $45,000 annually. Paid time off, health benefits, and professional development opportunities are provided.
