Position Summary
The Human Resources and Administration Director is a new position at Puente. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of HR and Administration will be a strategic thought-partner. The successful candidate will be a hands-on and participative manager and will lead internal administration as well as manage Human Resources for a 25-30 FTE organization.
Responsibilities
Human Resources
- Primary point of contact with PEO (Professional Employer Organization) to administer compensation, benefits and payroll as well as to ensure policy and legal compliance, internal HR policy administration and best practice development
- Further develop Puente’s human resources management, enhancing professional development, compensation and benefits, performance evaluation, training, and recruiting
- Manage all aspects of the entire employee life cycle at Puente: recruitment, hiring, on-boarding, professional development, retention, and separation
- Ensure that recruiting processes are consistent and streamlined
- Establish and manage a comprehensive training program to ensure compliance as well as educate employees regarding staff tools, policies, and procedures
- Partner with the Executive Director and other Directors to define and drive workplace culture, and share the overall responsibility for organizational development
- Create, implement, and maintain programs to enhance engagement, morale, and team building, including existing wellness and staff appreciation programs
Administration
- Oversee Puente’s Receptionist position
- Manage office schedules, services, and workplace environment/facilities
- Point of contact for various administrative needs as identified
Qualifications
- Proficiently Bilingual: Spanish & English
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- At least five years of relevant professional experience, or PHR/SHRM-CP plus two years of experience
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Personal qualities of integrity, and dedication to the mission of Puente
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to: Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience working in a hybrid environment strongly preferred
- Ability to work effectively as part of a culturally diverse team
- Availability to work some nights a week and occasionally on weekends

Compensation Salary Range $90K-100K based on experience. Medical, Vision, and Dental insurance.
