Responsibilities:

The National Director of Partnerships will manage – including developing, coordinating, and cultivating - MovementForward, Inc.’s (MFI) strategic partnerships with civic, corporate, faith-based, law-enforcement, advocacy, service, philanthropic, and other community organizations on a national, state, and regional basis. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this role will substantially grow participation in organizational efforts, especially MFI’s signature programs “National Faith & Blue Weekend” (Faith & Blue) and the  “One Congregation One Precinct” (OneCOP) initiative. The core objective of this role is to cultivate and substantially grow the collaboration of existing and new partners in organizational endeavors.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and leading the implementation of a strategy to grow and deepen community, law enforcement, and faith-based participation in organizational initiatives.
  • Collaborating closely with MFI’s senior leadership to build, formalize, operationalize, and manage partnerships with national advocacy, social service, corporate, civic, and grassroots organizations.
  • Collaborating closely with MFI’s senior leadership to build, formalize, operationalize, and manage partnerships faith-based organizations in the Protestant, Catholic, Mormon, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, and other religious communities on a national, state, regional, and local basis.
  • Collaborating closely with MFI’s senior leadership to manage 75+ existing partnerships with influential law enforcement associations, at the state and national levels, while also working diligently to develop additional such partnerships. 
  • Identifying and developing organizational partners in other arenas especially media, business, and service entities; Identifying new and priority markets for growth.
  • Coordinating opportunities for the CEO to address prospective and existing partner organizations, at all levels – national, state, regional and local - to secure their participation in MFI initiatives, most especially National Faith & Blue Weekend.
  • Establishing and leading the realization of clear and ambitious benchmarks for partner engagement in MFI programming, including those organizations directly facilitating the participation of their local affiliates/branches/entities/constituencies.
  • Collaborating closely with colleagues on the planning and implementation of other organizational efforts.
  • Delivering trainings on how to take part in organizational programming to a wide array of audiences.
  • Entering, managing, and updating data records of contacts.
  • Developing and leading planning for select organizational in-person and virtual events; providing ongoing support to local entities in their own MFI-sponsored activities.
  • Creating content directed to partners including digital, virtual, and printed presentations.
  • As needed, speaking to traditional and new media outlets about organizational programming.
  • Engaging in other organizational activities and new initiatives as necessary, both in the focus area of partnerships and otherwise.
  • This role may also directly manage grant-funded special projects and programs.
  • Directly organizing, supporting, and cultivating local law enforcement, community, and faith-based engagement in National Faith & Blue Weekend with an assigned group of states and locales.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Must have a strong work-ethic
  • Leadership bearing and experience with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Polished presenter, able to deliver strong presentations in-person and virtually
  • Experience in program development and partnership or organizational relationship management
  • Experience in successfully leading a distinct organizational function
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Must be a proficient writer
  • Self-starter and intentionally collaborative; able to work well within an emerging, growth-oriented, entrepreneurial team
  • Goal oriented with a focus on quantitative and qualitative outcomes
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Prior experience with law enforcement, national non-profits, or faith-based organizations is valued
  • MovementForward, Inc. is a work from the office environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required. Advanced degree is preferred.
