Mill Springs Academy invites applications for a full-time Director of Enrollment and Financial Aid beginning July 1, 2022.  Mill Springs Academy is an independent private school that provides a college preparatory education to non-traditional learners in grades 1 – 12. Located on 85 acres in Alpharetta, GA, the school offers a variety of additional opportunities for its teachers through coaching and summer programs. The Director of Enrollment is an integral part of the school’s administrative team and is responsible for managing all facets of the admissions process in the school’s effort to attract, enroll, and retain a diverse and dynamic student population.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Head of School and the Leadership team in all areas of admissions.
  • Support the mission and standards of the school by recruiting and retaining students who will benefit from the school’s unique culture, programmatic offerings and contribute to the school community.
  • Understand the culture of the school and broader educational environment.
  • Foster high ethical standards, integrity, and respect for colleagues, alumni/ae, parents and students throughout the admissions process.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with other schools in Fulton County and surrounding areas.
  • Communicate clearly and enthusiastically to all staff and prospective students.
  • Coordinate four essential elements to ensure a competitive admissions process and the long-term health of the student body and broader alumni/ae base: admission management (the tracking of prospective students from applicant to enrollment and beyond) student retention (the tracking of re-enrollment contracts and following-up with families who have not re-enrolled) research (analyzing data that affect enrollment) marketing (coordinating with the Director of Marketing and Communications)
  • Develop a strategic recruitment and communication plan to reach targeted audiences; including the development of marketing strategies, especially with design of promotional materials and use of social media. Also will assist in design of advertisements, mailings, web pages, and other publications that will promote the school to prospective students and their families.
  • Supervise admission office staff.
  • Oversee enrollment management budgets.
  • Partner with Academic Team and Leadership Team.
  • Identify potential donors – graduates, parents, the broader community. Responsible for Open Houses and other enrollment events.
  • Responsible for providing HOS, Director of Finance and the Board with reports including quarterly board updates and annual enrollment projections.
  • Complete enrollment reports including the Private School Students Enrolled form and DASL.
  • Oversee Mill Springs Academy financial aid program including distribution of aid and management of FACT software. Oversee the Georgia Special Needs Scholarship Program (GOAL).
  • Be involved in and knowledgeable of the AAAIS standards; ensuring the school adheres to their guidelines.
  • Promote the school’s mission and programs by developing new, and strengthen existing relationships between Mill Spring Academy and other organizations such as schools, civic and community organizations, networking organizations, and individual professionals and professional organizations. This includes maintaining regular contact and off-site visits.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing outreach and education events for both internal and external constituents and partners, to educate on current topics of interest.  

Professional Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree; master’s degree preferred
  • Five to seven years of experience in education, preferably in admissions
  • Ability to think critically and creatively
  • Proven success in a senior administrative role, preferably working with a board
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities
  • The ability to work collaboratively with other school community members
  • Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel as needed, including internationally
