Summary The Recruiting and College Prep Program Manager will join our team to manage our program recruitment process while also assisting our program team’s work to support our Fellows’ and alumnae readiness to succeed in college and career. Leap Year is a young, nonprofit organization that is improving college success and literacy results in metro-Atlanta by recruiting first generation high school graduates to serve as reading coaches through our community service and college readiness gap year program. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and expand program applicant outreach, interview, and enrollment process; communicate with existing high school counselors and contacts via frequent emails, texts, meetings, and calls; research and cultivate new relationships to add to database and partner with; brainstorm and implement new strategies to expand enrollment.
  • Promote and encourage applications by scheduling and leading information sessions, interviews, and enrollment meetings; develop, brainstorm and implement ideas for increasing the program’s visibility and building a pipeline of applicants; correspond with prospective students with targeted one-on-one student text outreach; complete reports to track the weekly progress towards recruitment goals.
  • Help Fellows prepare for transition to college by overseeing their college applications, FAFSA, GSU enrollment, SEL/mental health counseling, scholarship applications, etc.
  • Provide frequent outreach and support to alumnae on their journey through college.
  • Organize and expand volunteer events and corporate partnerships, including but not limited to scheduling career mentorship meetings, guest speakers, volunteer events.
  • Train and oversee Fellows on professionalism; serve as a role model and social-emotional resource to Fellows; assist in implementation of our college and career readiness curriculum by developing educational workshops to supplement ours when needed to help Fellows prepare for transition to college; organize team building activities and fun trips.
  • Provide administrative and project management support to the Leap Year team as needed, including but not limited to managing and purchasing office supplies, driving Fellows to/from elementary schools, GSU, and MARTA in 15-passenger van, filling-in for colleagues when needed, etc.; supporting the Leap Year team’s program growth, visibility, and fundraising efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (first-generation college graduate is a plus!) Self-starter, professional, outgoing, resourceful, and flexible with strong work ethic, positive attitude, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record Access to reliable transportation

Position Details

Start date: June 15th, 2022

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm, evening and weekend work required

Salary: $48,000 per year with generous vacation policies
