Company

The Waldorf School of Atlanta is nestled in the heart of Decatur, Georgia, the oldest suburb of Atlanta, on a beautiful wooded campus. WSA has been educating children with Waldorf teaching techniques developed by Rudolph Steiner since 1986. Integrating the arts and nature at every opportunity possible is a big emphasis at WSA. Children have natural outdoor spaces in which to learn and play everyday. Teachers focus on the developing child and the individuality each child contributes to their own learning processes. The Waldorf School of Atlanta has a program for all ages of children through the last grade of middle school, Grade Eight. Often classes will stay with the same teacher for several years strengthening the trajectory of learning throughout several, if not all, the grades. WSA also provides Specialty teachers who enrich the learning experience further by providing instruction in the areas of fine and practical arts. At WSA we have specially trained Waldorf teachers in the areas of Handwork, Eurythmy, Gardening, Woodwork, Games and Strings. The campus of WSA is always abustle with the whole community pitching in on the fun and excitement of celebrations and festivals throughout the school year. We also like to involve the surrounding areas of the neighborhood by including them in events like our annual Holiday Fair which is a favorite among many in Decatur.
