School Counselor

We are seeking a school counselor to support our students’ social and emotional needs. Working collaboratively with Eastside’s leadership team and faculty, the counselor will work one-on-one with students and alumni, serve as a mental health and wellness resource for our school community, and help to foster a culture of positive student growth.

Major responsibilities include:

• Providing individual counseling to students (in person) and alumni (generally virtually), with the goal of helping students develop coping strategies, resiliency, and communication skills.
• Identifying external resources and services, and helping to connect families with these services as needed.
• Creating and delivering professional development workshops for faculty and information sessions for parents.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in clinical or counseling psychology, social work, or equivalent, and valid licensure
• Minimum of two years’ experience in individual counseling with adolescents, ideally in a school setting
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to assess, evaluate, and refer students to appropriate resources and referrals
• Excellent communication skills
• A commitment to the population we serve
