JOB SUMMARY:

The Director, Institutional Giving pursues key partnerships with institutional funders including private foundations, corporate foundations, and other organizations. The Director also manages a portfolio of pass-through grants through Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) working closely with BGCA relationship managers. These funding partnerships yield programmatic and operational revenue to support Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta. The Director will partner closely with the Senior Director of Institutional Giving, the program and operations team, development colleagues, board members, and donors. The Director will manage a portfolio of institutional donors who support the organization through donations, grants, volunteerism, and event sponsorships. The position will report directly to the Senior Director of Institutional Giving.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Manages an annual portfolio of institutional funders that align to and support BGMCA’s work. 
  • Solicits funding support through grant applications, proposals, and direct solicitation
  • Stewards relationships by monitoring deliverables related to grants, sharing relevant updates with the funders, coordinating donor engagement opportunities, and cultivating support with the goal of renewing or expanding the relationship.
  • Works with staff grant writer to submit on-time grant applications and reports to funders within the Director’s portfolio.
  • Manage relationship with Boys & Girls Clubs of America as it pertains to pass-through funding and grant reporting
  • Assists in the development of tailored proposals that align to the organization’s strategic priorities and provide appropriate level of recognition to donors.
  • Ensure funder database records are up-to-date, and aid in preparation of analytical reports to measure progress toward fundraising goals for BGCMA’s leadership
  • Collaborates with Community Engagement Manager and Director of Corporate Partnership to execute volunteer-based opportunities in alignment with requests from institutional funders
  • All other duties as assigned

 

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing or Public Affairs preferred.
  • 4-6 years of experience identifying, soliciting, and managing foundation and/or corporate partnerships
  • Experience in grant writing and grants management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Adapts communication style to the audience
  • Knowledge of the Metro Atlanta funding community a plus
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge or another CRM tool a plus

 

 

ENVIRONMENT & WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

Normal internal office environment. Occasional need to travel to business locations within Metro Atlanta. Frequent internal contacts with employees throughout organization required. External contacts include board members, donors, vendors, corporate executives, non-profits partners and general public. Occasional need to work evenings and weekends. Physical requirements include sight, hearing, sitting for more than four hours each day and other physical requirements required to complete essential functions of the position.
