Job Details
School Culture/Discipline:
-Effectively communicate and respond to parent requests, issues and concerns related to disciplinary referrals and actions.
-Works with the Instructional Leadership Team to develop, implement, and maintain every detail of the school’s systems and procedures.
-Coordinates with the Dean of Instruction to maintain a positive, safe learning environment for students by promoting, training, and monitoring teachers in the use of Restorative Practices.
-Selects or creates a system for tracking school culture, and monitors, analyzes, and defines action plans based on this data. -Daily supervision and support of the School Support Staff team.
-Implementation and oversight of a program with local colleges allowing Practicums to be completed at Peace. -Implementation and oversight of individual volunteer opportunities within the school day.
-Manages/Supervises all school special events, school assemblies, and field trips.
-Performs other duties as assigned by the Head of School. Spiritual Formation:
-Develops and leads the school’s spiritual and character formation components; including the school's selection of curriculums to support immersive spiritual and character formation opportunities.
-Articulate and enforce age-appropriate standards and consistency in the following areas: culture, discipline, decorum and emphasis on virtue, particularly Christ-likeness.
-Plans, prepares and disseminates daily Bible lessons to teachers for classroom implementation.
-Schedules, coordinates, and implements whole school assemblies co-led by teachers and students to reinforce overarching spiritually formative themes.
Additional Information:
This role is considered a leadership position within the organization. As such, an extensive interview and referral process should be expected by the candidate to include reviews of written and oral communication, Pastoral references and verification of alignment with the school's Statement of Faith will be included in the application and interview process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 10 years relevant experience
- Master’s Degree preferred, not required, in relevant field of study.
- Knowledge and Experience with trauma-informed practices and discipline strategies.
- Experience interacting with faith and culture in primarily urban environments.
- Knowledge of best practices and developmentally appropriate modalities for character education and spiritual formation with the ability to train teachers in implementation.
